PAINTOGRAPHY IS ALL ABOUT ART IN CONTEXT AND YOU. It unfolds into a visual story that includes YOU, for stories and images change when a YOU respond to and engage them. This actually can turn the “look and feel” you imagine into reality.
PAINTOGRAPHY: The other day, a visitor asked me to explain how I create Paintography. Interesting! It is mostly about looking at a photo to discover what inspires me, and then working with that, “painting” it, with the digital tools I have available. So, when I talk with you about paintography, I want to know what YOU see in a photo that inspires you, and how you might translate that into photo-art .
Do you love Gustav Klimpt or Thomas Kincaid, for example. Do you lean toward abstract, romantic, or impressionist art? Do you love the look and feel of woodcuts or canvas? Are you drawn to message or spiritual art? What excites you or is important to you about an image... form...color? Is it conveying an emotion? Or a message? Is it an opportunity to use color, and patterns, and textures, and digital manipulation to tell your story?

PAINTOGRAPHY:. Think back to when ,as a child, you loved "show-and-tell" ...and do it again. It now becomes a conversation between you and the art. You may have an idea to share. Mix it with synchronicity so that what starts out as a photo, for example, something that seems apparent, can become something unexpected. Taking it one step further, a story unfolds for you, the viewer, to interpret and bring on home.
For me, Paintography, especially in the fauve wave design style I use, is an expressive, often vibrant digital technique that takes one of my photos and runs its through many layers and textures to finally produce a sense of connection with the subject.
